The doorbell comes ready to use, right out of the box. Concealed behind a removeable front panel are the controls. To play one of the built-in selections, press Group until the desired group number is heard, then press a white piano key to select one of 10 songs or sounds in that group. A brief description of the controls is provided below. The doorbell comes complete with a manual containing full operation and installation instructions. Built-In / User - Select "Built-In" in order to use any of the built-in songs and sounds. Select "User" to use or load a song of your own.
Play - Preview what will be played with a press of the front door button
If you are musically inclined, just press load then play the song you want on the keyboard! If not, a
songbook of many different tunes is included to help get you started

This seems complicated. Do I have to learn all this to use the doorbell?
A: No. It will work right out of the box and quick instructions to select a song are printed right inside the cover of the unit itself.
Q: Is it hard to install?
A: No. Most applications use just two wires. See our installation page or the included manual for complete instructions.
Q: How do I select the built-in song I want?
A: Slide the switch to built-in, press 'Group' until the desired group number is heard, then press a white piano key to select which of the 10 songs or sounds with in that group. Use teh 'Manual' switch to use this one song. Use the 'Auto' switch to have it sequence though all the sounds within that group.
Q: How do I program
in my own song?
A: Slide the selector switch to 'User' and there are two ways: In the 'Manual' method, enter the notes and
note lengths on the keyboard. Any tune up to 50 notes long can be loaded.
In the 'Auto' mode, just play the song on the keyboard and the doorbell will record it for you. up to 25 notes can be entered this way.
Q: What if I don't
know the notes to the song I want?
A: You can improvise by just playing notes on the keyboard until you get
what you want. And you can press Play to hear and test your song as you
go. Or you might want to try to get some sheet music to help you out.

Q: Do I need to be
a musician to use this thing?
A: Absolutely not. People aged 7 to 77 with no musical ability have programmed
their own song, and it comes with over 100 built-in songs and sounds so it will work
right out of the box!
Q: Is it very loud?
A: Yes, at the loudest postion it is designed to be heard throughout a
standard sized home. For larger homes, basements, etc., a auxiliary speaker
(or even two) can be added.
Q: Does it come in
any other colors?
A: No, not at this time.
Q: Does it have to have batteries?
A: No. The doorbell operates off your exsiting wiring. If you program
your own song, you may want to install a standard 9V battery so that the
song is not lost in the event of a power outage.
