This installation method has the advantage of not having to deal with houshold electrical current, and there are fewer connections to make. A 9V alkaline battery will last 1-2 years and frequently longer, depending on usage. The musical doorbell is designed for an extremely low standby current to prolong battery life.

Note: Be sure that the AC/DC switch on the back of the Musical Doorbell is in the DC position. Remove the jumpers on the back of the unit. Only non-lighted pushbuttons are supported in this type of installation.

Follow the wiring diagram below for proper connection. One wire from the front doorbell goes to the F terminal, the other goes to the T terminal. Similarly, the back dorrbell button connects to the B terminal and to the T terminal. Connect a good quality alkaline 9V battery to the battery clip provided in the rear doorbell compartment.
