This method connects the doorbell to your 110V house electricity and has the advantage of never requiring battery replacement. if you feel uncomfortable with such a task, hire a licensed electrician, or follow the instructions for installation and operation using a 9V battery. Note: Always turn power off before connecting any electrical equipment. Be sure that the AC/DC switch on the back of the Musical Doorbell is in the AC position. For non-lighted pushbutton switches, remove the jumpers at the back of the unit.

Step 1:
You will need to obtain one standartd 12V to 16V Bell Watt transformer, a pushbutton (two if installing both a front and back doorbell) and 18 guage bell wire. These items are readily available at any hardware or home improvement store.

Follow the wiring diagram below for proper connection. One wire from the front doorbell goes to the F terminal, the other goes to the transformer. The second transformer wire connects to the T terminal of the doorbell. Similarly, the back dorrbell button connects to the B terminal and to the transformer.

The input side of the transformer connects to the 110V ac house wiring.

Step 2:
The Musical Doorbell requires a diode (supplied with doorbell) on the front door push button to operate properly. If the diode is not installed or is not installed correctly, the doorbell will only play as long as the push button is pressed. To install the diode, simply attach each wire lead to a screw terminal on the push button. It only has to be connected to the front door button, not to the back door button.

To test, press "Reset" then "Play"
In this type of installation, you may also install a 9V battery into the unit. This will allow you to take the unit off the wall for loading a user song. It will also provide battery backup for any user loaded song.
